The Story of the Little Red Hawk

Gather round kiddies

Once upon a time, there was a little Red Hawk. (Actually he is 5ft 11 and 185lbs of solid manmuscle, so hes not that little, but work with me, OK?) Little Red Hawk worked very hard night and day helping sick little children to breathe and working in his vegetable garden.

Now Hawk had a very lazy boyfriend named Princess Justin. Princess Justin did not like to work hard. In fact he was SO lazy that he even picked a career where all he had to do everyday was just sit in a chair and tell other people what they should do with their lives. Most especially, Justin did not like to help Hawk with the vegetable garden.

During the long cold winter, the Little Red Hawk would carefully look a his seed and vegetable catalogs and make his busy plans. He would ask Justin to help him plan, but Justin was too busy chatting with his friends online.

After the ground thawed in the spring, the Little Red Hawk rented a rototiller to plow the garden and make it soft for the tender new plants. Princess Justin went shopping at Target and out to lunch with his gurlfriends.

On Saturdays, Hawk would ask Princess Justin to go with him to visit a wonderful garden store called the Homo Depot, but Princess Justin wanted to sit in his recliner and watch baseball, sometimes even a double header.

Did Justin help with the watering? No, he sat on the deck knitting socks and working on his tan.

Did he help chase the bunnies out of the garden? No, he had to make an entry in his online journal which no one really reads.

Did he help with the weeding? No, weeds gave him a rash and made him sneeze.

Princess Justin did squat

Still the Little Red Hawk worked very hard and his tomatoes got bigger and redder and juicer. One day in August, Hawk announced that his tomatoes were just bursting with tomatoey goodness. He picked a big basketful and proudly brought them into the house.

Wow! said Princess Justin, Our tomatoes are looking really good this year. Yummy! I cant wait to have a BLT on wholewheat

What do you mean OUR tomatoes, white boy? said the Little Red Hawk.

And the moral of the story is....
