Teed Off
Hey, I have a mother, sisters, daughters, fag hags and even a militant lesbian ex-wife,( Hi Kal), so I guess that makes me as qualified as the next moderately liberal queer to speak out on feminist golfing issues. I golf and belong to a private country club too; one of those democratic clubs that lets anybody in, provided you can play the dues.
Even homosexuals
But Mz. Martha Burk, you just dont get it. Sure the Augusta National Club, home of the Nation's best golf tournanment, the Masters, is a sexist, good-ol-boys snobatorium. They dont admit women, but Martha, dear, its a PRIVATE club. Private clubs can do whatever the hell they want.
And don't you know it chapped their white asses to have Tiger Woods win 3 the Master 3 different times, but I digress.
Yes Martha, I agree its a silly rule, but when you say Its appalling that the women who are willing to lay down their lives for democratic ideals in Iraq should be shut out of this club. Democratic ideals do not include discrimination, thats insulting to our female warriors, not to mention stupid.
Martha Dear, Shoshaunna Johnson, Jessica Lynch and Lori Piestewa dont give a rats ass about women not getting into some snooty golf club. Or at least I will assume Lori didnt. She cant speak for herself; Shes with the cloud people now. You want to get behind a cause, support renaming Squaw Peak in Arizona after Lori. Calling a Native American woman a squaw is like calling them a whore
And thats not nice.
And Martha, you want to tackle feminist issues. I have a list of them: Breast cancer, affordable day care, enforcement and collection of child support, pay equity, sexual violence against women. How come your insurance company will pay for Viagra but not a womans birth control pills? And thats only in this fair country. We wont even mention the oppression of Muslin women or the murder of all those Chinese baby girls.
Youre an intelligent women Martha, but its all about choosing your battles.
BTW, the azaleas at the Masters were lovely
