Thank You, God and Godess! Henry Ford and Eddie Bauer My sister, Betsy, and her 3 children were in a serious car accident yesterday. They were driving to the lake house and were stuck in the usual Friday afternoon traffic slow down on I-435 when a Jeep Grand Cherokee slammed into their rear in going an estimated 55 mph. Holy Shit! Now Betsy, the ultimate soccer mom, drives the ultimate soccer mom vehicle; An Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Expedition which is a monster of a machine and the baddest mo-fo on 435. It also has a lot of specialized safety features. Fortunately the kids were not in that back 3rd seat, Ben was in the front and Abby was in the 2nd seat with my precious baby, Harrison. Everybody was properly restrained. Seat Belts save Lives, Folks. The kids didn't get a scratch, but only because the car was so big that the back seat took the impact. Can you imagine if this had been me in the Miata? Now get this, the driver of the Jeep gets out of the car and runs off into the countryside, leaving a wallet, ID and money on the front seat. The police say that there was blood and broken glass all over the front seat. 20 minutes later the police get a call that the Jeep has been stolen, along with the owners wallet. Hmmm Tow truck drivers declare the Expedition totalled. Did I mention it was only 2 months old? My brother-in-law, never one to let adversity get him down, arrives at the scene of the accident along with, not one but 3, car salesmen driving big ass Lincoln Navigators. Betsy is to pick out the color she likes and 'not to worry' Daddy is going to take care of everything. She chooses the black one, transfers kids and suitcases to the Lincoln and heads on down to the lake I'll keep you posted as to what happens next. It the mean time, Buckle Up. Please BTW, Royals won the first game of the double header. 9 in a row, but the 2nd game went 11 innings...just what you want playing a double headed in 100 degree heat, and they lost. Still, nice run, boys!!
