Bee A-mazed Just when you think that Kansas is nothing more than 82,282 square miles of wheat that stands between you and the ski slopes of Colorado, something aMaizing happens. No, it's not crop circles or a giant promo for Mel Gibson's new movie. For the last four years, the Pendleton's have planted a giant corn maze just outside of Lawrence but this year they have really outdone themselves. It might look like a giant honeybee from the air, but when you are inside the maze, it's easy to get lost in the 10ft rows of corn.
..and if stumbling around lost in 100 degree weather isn't you idea of a good time, you can go for a helicopter ride over the maze, buy fresh produce or pick a bouquet from the cutting gardens. Happy Birthday to the Goddess...and speaking of cutting gardens and fresh produce. Everybody gather up their dyer lint, wet it down, moosh it up, roll it out and make some handmade paper to send to the lovely Martha Stewart as greeting for her 61st birthday. It will be a good thing.
